Anime North is Canada’s premier anime convention and is held annually in Toronto, ON. This year the event ran May 23-25, 2025, attracting fans of anime, manga, music, and gaming from across Canada. This annual celebration of Japanese pop culture delivered an unforgettable experience, packed with creativity, community, and captivating content.
The event was founded in 1997 by Toronto anime fan Donald Simmons, with support from seven local anime appreciation fan clubs. It started with an initial attendance of approximately 700 people and has since grown into a massive annual gathering.

Attendees at Anime North 2025 immersed themselves in a wide array of attractions. There was something for every interest, from fan-run panels and workshops to gaming tournaments. The convention also featured impressive musical performances and dances. they also had an exciting lineup of guests from the anime industry. Fans had the opportunity to meet voice actors, artists, and cosplayers. Notable guests included Trina Nishimura, Landon McDonald, and Mark Whitten, who were available for panels, signing sessions, and photo opportunities.

As always, cosplay was a major highlight. Everywhere you looked, attendees donned elaborate costumes, showcasing their incredible talent and passion. The enthusiastic spirit of the cosplayers truly brought beloved characters to life, making for spectacular visual displays around every corner and adding to the festive and immersive experience of the convention.
