Youmacon is an annual four-day convention held in Detroit, Michigan, that ran from October 30 hrough Sunday, November 2nd. This celebration of Japanese animation, video games, and popular culture started in 2005, making this it’s 20th anniversary,
This fun event includes gaming halls, live musical performances, a massive marketplace, celebrity guest panels, and a Maid Café. A few highlights of this year included musical guest BABYBEARD and several stars from the Netflix series K-Pop Demon Hunters. Furthermore, the event is placing a strong emphasis on its renowned cosplay community by offering substantial prizes and sending competition winners to international summits, including a “world cosplay summit” in Hiroshima, making it an unforgettable gathering for fans of all ages.

Cosplay is a highlight of Youmacon. The event features major competitions like the Cosplay World Masters and the Integrated Cosplay Contest, with winners continuing on to the cosplay summit in Hiroshima. This means that the cosplay is plentiful and thanks to S Michael Hauserman we get to see a small fraction of the cosplay.
