Sakura-Con 2026 just wrapped up its three-day run from April 3–5 at the Seattle Convention Center. The event used the Arch, Arch Tower, and Summit buildings to accommodate its programming.

This year they brought in the Japanese animation company, Studio Orange, the studio is known for its exaggerated 3D and directing style. Guests fromt eh studio included Directors Masako Sato and Naoya Nakayama, and Producer Yoshihiro Watanabe. They also brought in voice actor Haruki Ishiya,
There were several activities to participate in. The convention held gaming competitions with over 30 brackets featuring titles like Tekken 8, Street Fighter 6, Guilty Gear Strive, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. There were two Cosplay Chess games; the family-friendly Cosplay Chess Arena (themed around “Mad Scientists”) and the Cosplay Chess After Dark (Mankind vs. Monsters) for the 18+ crowd. the main events included the annual Masquerade, AMV showcases, and several late-night dances.
Overall the event went smoothly, with most complaints focusing on the app and the lack of paper programs and maps.
