Space Coast Comic Con ran June 20 – 26th at the Wickham Park Community Center in Melbourne, Fl. This event is over 10 year old and continues to be a local favorite. With low-cost ticket this is a family-friendly celebration of all things pop culture.
Unlike many conventions this is not about celebrities and chasing autographs, this event is about the fans and creators. This is an affordable, easily accessible show filled primarily with local talent, local guests and local fans.
This year’s Artist Alley included comic book artists Pat Broderick and Athena Finger, granddaughter of Bill Finger the uncredited co-creator of Batman. Artist alley also included an incredible lineup of local authors, paranormal investigators, and indie publishers. The convention also supported local business with an official SCCC Bar Crawl, a guided event that started at Nomad’s and ended in a costume contest hosted at Dolly’s.
