ConnectiCon XXIII (23) took place in Hartford, Connecticut over the weekend of July 16-19. Well into it’s second decade, this even continued to deliver a packed weekend of intense gaming, cosplay and overall fun.
This event offered round-the-clock interactive spaces across the convention center floor. Exhibit Hall B featured arcade machines and consoles for everything from casual play to open tournaments. There were over 60 arcade machines featuring classics and modern favorites while the console setups was into the triple digits with a variety of games. There was also a large are for card tournaments such as MtG, Lorcana and the One Piece Card Game. All of this along with dedicated campaign spaces for D&D, Warhammer and other tactical games.
ConnectiCon is about more than games. The fans had plenty of opportunity to meet some of their favorite voice actors. a few of the guests included Kimberly Booorks, Suzie Young, Tara sands and Alejandra Reynoso. On top of all that Hall A featured over 300 artists, crafter, and vendors allowing attendees to acquire original props, custom prints, hand-crafted apparel, and rare collectibles.
The convention floor was a continuous parade of fandom love with a variety of fabrications, armor builds, and creative mashups. There were a lot of cosplay events including Cosplay Chess, Cosplay Death Match and the competitions. There was also Photo ops and meetups for cosplayers of all genres.
