Anime Expo (AX) 2025 took place July 3rd to July 6th, 2025, at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Known as the largest Japanese pop culture event in North America, this event brought over 400, 000 fans to the L.A. area. AX was started in 1991 as “Anime Con” by the members of UC Berkeley’s anime club, Cal Animage Alpha and has been running strong since.

One of the major attractions this year was the first Beyblade X US National Tournament. It was the first tournament to allow those over the age of 13. It saw 128 participants battle for a spot in Tokyo.
Other big draws included voice actors, manga artists, directors, and musicians. Guests included Naoki Yoshida, manga duo Peach Pit, Mokumokuren, Ryukishi07, and Paru Itagaki. There were also the usual events such as panels, premieres, and Q&A sessions. Prominent panels included One-Punch Man Season 3 with Makoto Furukawa, Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, and a BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War Panel. Netflix also premiered the English dub of Sakamoto Days. This is a big event with mor going on than we possibly cover.
