Anime Milwaukee ran March 6-8 at the Baird Center in Milwaukee, Wi. Now in it’s 19th year, this event was bigger and better than ever as it expanded to include more of the Baird Center. you would expect such an expansion to hold some problems, but it seems to run pretty smoothly.
The guest roster for this year included some impressive names such as Shintaro Asanuma, Felecia Angelle, Aaron Dismuke, and Jessie James Grelle. the programming included some fan favorites and convention staples such as an Idol fest, late night rave, and cosplay chess.

This year, Anime Milwaukee seems to be a standout, amongst those we have covered. Most conventions are filled with the standard complains about poorly organized celebrity experiences, bad staff interactions, and confrontations with security. With the expansion Anime Milwaukee seems to have handle it all quite well.
The only truly ‘bad’ part of the event was that fact that several attendees seemed to have contracted a case of food poisoning due to one of the food vendors. This did lead to some occurrences of bio-hazards that were dealt with on an ‘as-needed’ basis.

As is normal for Anime Milwaukee, the event was filled with cosplayers of all genres and skill levels. Thousands of costumes paraded down the halls and we were fortunate to find a few people who had cameras and were willing to share their photos with us. Thanks to Eric Cotton for this first batch.
