This is Dragon Con weekend. Dragon Con ran August 28th through September 1st and was held in Atlanta, GA. Dragon Con is one of the largest and most well-known pop culture conventions in North America. This event has grown from it’s small origins in 1987 into a massive five-day event that draws tens of thousands of attendees. and encompasses multiple host hotels in downtown Atlanta. This is a 24-hour event that features panels, vendors, artists, celebrities, gaming and just about everything else that you can imagine.

The Dragon Con Parade is a cornerstone of the annual Dragon Con convention. This is a massive public display of creativity and fandom, featuring thousands of participants in elaborate costumes from all genres. It is held on Saturday morning and attracts tens of thousands of spectators to the streets of downtown Atlanta.
The parade doesn’t step off until 10 am, but if you want a good viewing point you need to be there about two hours ahead of time. Apparently even the birds were lining up to watch the parade.

First held in 2002, the parade has grown from a small procession into one of Atlanta’s largest annual parades. Its immense popularity has made it a central part of the Dragon Con experience. Laird of Cosplay managed to get their early and snag a great spot for some photos.
