Isshocon returned to the Ann Arbor Marriott Ypsilanti at Eagle Crest from January 23–25. This year’s theme was “The Year of Yokai,” This gave the event a mystical tone as attendees did a deep dive into Japanese folklore.

The guest list for 2026 brought a mix of well known voices and upcoming stars that presented panels and signed autographs. Guests at this years event included Matthew David Rudd, Jon St. John, and Joel McDonald.

Isshocon’s schedule was packed with unique and fun experiences. They offered the Dreams Come Chuu Maid & Butler Cafe where guests enjoyed an hour of treats while watching dance performances. There was also the “Golden Bargain” flea market where attendees could sell their old cosplays, collectables, and anime collection. Other popular events included the charity Rave on Friday, that supported LGBT Detroit, and the Yokai Rave on Saturday. They also hosted gaming areas featuring both video and tabletop gaming.
