Katsucon 2026 wrapped up its 31st anniversary over the weekend of February 13-15th. This is an annual 3-day event held in Washington, D.C. area at the Gaylord National Resort. This years theme was “Apocalypse”.
The convention did something a little different this year and had a “Closed Profile” policy. They restricted hotel access to badged attendees and hotel guests, thus ending the reign of “Lobby-conners.” This resulted in less sardine-like crowds and easier access to photo op areas such as the legendary glass gazebo. The convention also mailed badges to attendees that purchased them in order to reduce the ‘line-con’ that occurred in previous years.

This years guest list included Shaun Mendum, Justin Briner, Michelle Rojas, Christoperh Larking and Ricky Whittle. The musical guest this year was Spirit Bomb. There was the usual card and video gaming, workshops and panels. However, this year most of the daytime programming seemed a little stagnant with several recycled panels from previous years.
Cosplay is always a highlight of this event and thanks to Jeffrey Robinson we get to see a small selection of the cosplay that was on site.
