Setsucon is an annual two-day anime convention held at the Blair County Convention Center in Altoona, Pennsylvania. Organized by the Penn State Anime Organization since its inception in 2007, the event has grown into a major gathering for fans of Japanese culture. The 2025 edition of Setsucon took place from January 31st to February 2nd, bringing an exciting lineup of activities, special guests, and, of course, plenty of cosplay and cosplay photos.
This year’s convention featured over 250 hours of programming, ensuring there was never a dull moment. Attendees enjoyed anime screenings, fan-hosted panels, and interactive experiences throughout the weekend. The Exhibitors Hall offered a space to connect with artists and vendors, while the Silent Auction and Maid Café added unique elements to the event. Special guests included voice actors SungWon Cho and Caitlin Glass, the dance group Antipode, and anime anthropologist Lex Winter, all of whom contributed to an engaging and memorable experience.
Cosplay was a major highlight, with contests, themed meetups, and photoshoots showcasing the creativity and talent of attendees. From intricate handmade costumes to fan-favorite characters brought to life, the cosplay scene added an extra layer of excitement to the event.
Next years event is scheduled for January 30-February 1, 2026.
