ThunderCon celebrated its 10th anniversary this year in thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada over the weekend of September 20-21. This volunteer-run, non-profit event has evolved from a small, one-day gathering in 2015 to a major two-day celebration of all things geek.
This year’s lineup of celebrity .guests included renowned actor Doug Jones, famous for his work in creature and makeup-heavy roles in films like Hellboy and The Shape of Water. He was joined by Harlan Blayne Kytwayhat, who stars as coach Sanguinet in the popular series Shoresy.
The anniversary event drew an enthusiastic crowd and held a diverse range of activities for fans of all ages. There was a lively vendor hall with local artists and merchants, dedicated gaming zones, a gameshow, and even an escape room. ThunderCon also hosted a live demo of the video game series Outlast in the Retro North Games’ gaming shed.
