FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention 2026 ran from Thursday, September 24 through Saturday, September 26, 2026 at the the Calvin L. Rampton Salt Palace Convention Center in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah. This annual event was started in 2013 as “Salt Lake Comic Con”, by Dan Farr and Bryan Brandenburg. It was rebranded to Fan X Salt Lake City following a 2018 controversy over harassment complaint handling and a trademark lawsuit with San Diego Comic-Con.
The Salt Palace is undergoing a three-year renovation project, so next years even will be a little different. It will encompass two separate, smaller events in Sandy Utah, with the first of them scheduled for March 11 through March 14, 2027.
This year’s guest lineup drew massive crowds for photo ops, autographs, and Q&A panels. Headliners included Kiefer Sutherland, Zachary Levi, Chace Crawford, Josh Peck, Nick Swardson, Zach Tyler Eisen and Jack De Sena.
The event also provided a venue for local creators and vendors. Artist alley hosted hundreds of illustrators, comic book writers, and crafters where attendees could hunt for original artwork and indie titles. The main vendor floor offered a dense mix of merchandise from vintage silver-age comic books and rare imported vinyl figures to handcrafted leather goods and custom props.
Beyond celebrity sightings and shopping the convention floor was as a vibrant showcase of cosplay craftsmanship and thanks to LeRoy Lavea we get to see a small sample of what was on the convention floor.
