FANEXPO Dallas is a 3-day pop culture extravaganza held in Dallas, Texas. This year’s event took place May 30 through June 1st at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, TX. Fan Expo Dallas began in 2002 under the name Dallas Comic Con. the event expanded to three days in 2012 and was acquired by Informa in 2015 to be rebranded as FANEXPO Dallas.

FANEXPO Dallas has a lot to offer, no matter your interests you can always find something. You can browse the vendors for merchandise, visit the artists alley and find some new art, or find a new comic line from a small press. If you don’t want to spend more money, you can check out some panels, visit the family zone, or hang out in cosplay central. You could also watch the cosplay red carpet or visit a celebrity.

The celebrities at this years event included Michael J. Fox, Mr. T, John Cena, Orlando Bloom, Walton Goggins, and John Boyega. They featured cast reunions for Back to the Future, Smallville, and Avatar: The Last Airbender. As you can see, they covered a variety of genres and offered something for everyone.
As far as I can tell, there weren’t any major problems. I see the usual complaints about how the celebrity lines were handled, food offerings, and training for security and fan personnel. Nothing major and the same complaints that I see for every large convention.
